Hi, this is Darius. Back in the day, HubSpot gave away a tool that graded your website. In 2011 it had already graded four million sites, and every grade went to a business owner who now knew they had a problem and knew who had pointed it out. A lot of online income works the same way: you help someone first and sell to them later.
This guide shows how to make money with Claude Code with seven free skills. One tests your idea, two find people who’ll pay, and four produce the work clients buy. For each one you’ll see what it does, a real example, the catch and the install command.

How many people use these skills to make money with Claude Code?
Of the skills that help you make money with Claude Code, Grill Me leads by a wide margin with about 1.3 million installs on skills.sh, followed by Free Tools with about 66,500. Brag, Agent Reach and PPT Master each sit around 17,000 to 21,000.

Step 1 · Test the idea
1. Grill Me: stress-test a business idea before you build it
282K GitHub stars (pack)1.3M installsMITFree
Side projects usually fail on a question nobody asked before the building started.
Grill Me is a skill from Matt Pocock, who teaches developers to code with AI. It interviews you about an idea until no part of it rests on a guess.
What it does
- Questions come in rounds. Each round only asks what you can answer with the decisions already made.
- Every question includes Claude’s recommended answer, so a yes accepts it and anything else pushes back.
- Claude looks up facts on its own and leaves the decisions with you.
- It writes no files. The output is a clearer plan in your head.
Example: Say the plan is selling websites to local gyms. It asks who pays, the owner or a head office, and who approves the design. Ask it to note every time you say probably, and you leave with a list of assumptions to test with a real gym owner.

The catch: The result depends on your answers. The docs warn that typing agreed to forty questions gives you a plan you nodded along to without really deciding anything.

Step 2 · Find the problem
2. Agent Reach: read what people complain about online
94.7K GitHub stars18.7K installsMITFree
Every day, people describe problems they’d pay to have fixed, in posts you’ll never come across.
Agent Reach by Panniantong gives your agent access to the sites where those posts live, and it installs from one line you paste into Claude Code.
What it does
- Out of the box, Claude can read web pages, YouTube subtitles, RSS feeds and public GitHub repos.
- After setup, it can also search X, Reddit, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook.
- When a platform blocks one access method, the project moves to another, and a doctor command shows what’s working.
- All the tools and APIs are free. A proxy of about $1 a month is only needed on a server.
Example: Ask for posts containing phrases like I export this every Friday or does anyone know a workaround, with links to the originals. You get real people describing tedious tasks in their own words, which is both a product idea and sales copy.

The catch: Some platforms need extra steps. X needs login cookies you export yourself, and Reddit only works through your own browser session. The README is also written in Chinese.

Step 3 · Get leads
3. Free Tools: plan a free tool that brings customers to you
53.9K GitHub stars (pack)66.5K installsMITFree
People ignore cold emails, but they share a free tool that fixes a small problem for them.
Free Tools is part of Corey Haines’s marketing skills pack. It helps you plan a free calculator, generator, grader or checker that attracts the right customers.
What it does
- It starts with your business, the people you want to reach and how much time you can spend.
- Every idea is tested against four rules: it fixes a real problem, sits next to what you sell, does one thing well, and earns back the cost of building and maintaining it.
- It comes with real cases to compare against, such as HubSpot’s free Website Grader.
Example: If you build websites for gyms, it might suggest a free speed checker for gym sites. An owner pastes their link, sees a poor score, and the fix is the service you sell.

The catch: A free tool is still a product you have to maintain, and the skill asks you to count that cost before you start building.

Step 4 · Send the proposal
4. PPT Master: editable proposal decks from your call notes
58.7K GitHub stars17.3K installsMITFree, pay for the model
Deals cool off while you spend two evenings putting a proposal together after a good call.
PPT Master by Hugo He, a finance professional, turns documents and notes into native PowerPoint files you can keep editing.
What it does
- Slides are built from real slide masters, native shapes and data-backed charts, so every element stays editable in PowerPoint.
- It can follow your company template, fill an existing deck with new content, or add transitions and narration to a finished one.
- Everything runs on your computer apart from the calls to the AI model.
- The README names Claude Code as the author’s preferred agent.
Example: Give it your notes from the call, the scope and the price, and ask for a five slide proposal you can send the same day. Write it for the person who wasn’t on the call, since your contact will likely forward it.

The catch: It needs Python 3.10 or newer, and the author says the first draft still needs polishing. Better models give better decks.

pip install -r requirements.txt

Step 5 · Launch videos
5. Brag: short launch videos from a link
14.7K GitHub stars21K installs (Brag + Slim)MITFree
Big startups spend serious money on launch videos, and most small launches go out with none.
Brag by Latent Spaces turns a project folder or a website link into a short launch video with music, motion and copy for the post.
What it does
- You choose the format, landscape, vertical or square, and a tone such as polished, chaotic, deadpan, cinematic or a straight-faced fake startup launch.
- It plans the story first and checks stills from each scene before rendering.
- On Claude Opus 5.5 it switches to Brag Slim, a single-file version.
- Videos run about 15 to 25 seconds.
Example: Look for products launching on Product Hunt without a video, make one for them, and send it with a single line. It’s a warmer opener than a cold email.

The catch: The videos are short by design, and the full version needs Node.js 22 or newer, FFmpeg and HyperFrames.

/plugin install brag@brag
Step 6 · Product films
6. Video Shotcraft: cinematic product films you can keep editing
11K GitHub stars3.3K installsApache-2.0Free, Remotion license rules
A 20 second teaser gets attention, but a product page usually needs a longer film.
Video Shotcraft by Vincent Wei turns Claude Code into a motion design studio that makes promo, launch and demo films with Remotion.
What it does
- It storyboards the film, animates each shot and adds sound effects.
- It draws on more than 150 shot recipes and over 200 styles, all viewable in a free online gallery.
- When the film is done, a CapCut-style editor opens in your browser, so you can change copy, colors and timing per shot.
Example: A coffee brand launching an app gives it the app and a few features, and gets a cinematic promo for its homepage.

The catch: The skill is Apache licensed, but Remotion is only free for individuals and small teams. Larger companies may need a paid Remotion license.

Step 7 · Scale the work
7. OpenRig: run Claude Code and Codex as one team
6.4K GitHub starsUp to 7 agentsApache-2.0Free, needs your AI plan
With a few clients, a lot of the day goes into copying answers between AI chat windows.
OpenRig is open source software that runs your coding agents as a team, with Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex in the same setup.
What it does
- The starter team pairs a Claude Code builder with a Codex reviewer.
- Larger teams add a lead, QA, design and extra reviewers, up to seven agents.
- A terminal dashboard shows what each agent is doing.
Example: A client wants a price calculator on their site. One agent builds it, the other checks it against the client’s real prices, and you review the result.

The catch: It runs on macOS or Linux with Node.js 22 or 24 and tmux, and it writes hooks and trust settings into your AI tools, so back those up first. You also need your own Claude Code or Codex plan.
Install it
Easiest: open Claude Code, type Install this skill: and paste github.com/mvschwarz/openrig
npm install -g @openrig/cli
rig setup --dry-run

Frequently asked questions
Can you really make money with Claude Code?
Yes. The practical way to make money with Claude Code is to sell services it speeds up: proposals, launch videos, product films, small tools and client websites. Each skill either cuts the time a job takes or helps you find people with a problem worth paying for.
Are these Claude Code skills free?
All seven are free and open source. You pay for the AI model you run them with, and a few have extra conditions: Video Shotcraft uses Remotion, which larger companies may need to license, and OpenRig needs your own Claude Code or Codex plan.
Which skill should I start with?
If you want to make money with Claude Code from scratch, start with Grill Me to test your idea, then Agent Reach to find real people with the problem. If you already have a service, Brag and PPT Master are the fastest ways to start conversations and close deals.
Do I need to know how to code?
No. You install each skill by pasting its GitHub link into Claude Code and then ask for what you want in plain English. PPT Master and OpenRig need a little setup, such as Python or Node.js.
How do I install a Claude Code skill?
Open Claude Code, type “Install this skill:” and paste the GitHub link. Claude installs it, and the skill loads in your next chat.
Final verdict: the fastest way to make money with Claude Code
Test the idea with Grill Me, find real complaints with Agent Reach, and give away a small tool planned with Free Tools. Close with a PPT Master proposal, open doors with Brag launch videos, sell longer films made with Video Shotcraft, and bring in OpenRig once client work piles up. All seven are free, so the only running cost when you make money with Claude Code is the AI plan you already have.
