Hi, this is Darius. You spend an hour on a post, publish it and get four likes by the next day, and one is from your mom. The usual advice is to post more often, which can mean several posts a week on LinkedIn and several a day on X. That is hard to keep up next to a real job.

Using Claude for social media takes most of that work off your plate. These are the 8 free skills I’d use, in order: finding topics, planning the week, writing in your own voice, turning one idea into posts for every app, and getting it all published or scheduled. Each section covers what the skill does, an example, the cost and the catch.

Claude for social media: one free skill for each step, from finding topics to scheduling
One skill for each step, from finding topics to scheduling.

How popular are these Claude for social media skills?

Among the Claude for social media skills, Social from Corey Haines’ pack leads with about 72,000 installs. Post to X follows with almost 29,000, and Reddit Research with almost 11,000.

Step 1 · Find topics

1. Reddit Research: post what people are already asking

1.2K GitHub stars10.9K installsMITFree skill, paid searches

A post gets more replies when it answers a question people are already asking.

Reddit Research connects Claude to reddapi, a third-party search service for Reddit (not run by Reddit itself). Reddit is where people ask questions in public all day, which makes it a good place to find topics.

What it does

  • The search covers more than 50,000 subreddits, 20 million posts and 40 million comments.
  • Search works by meaning, so a plain question also finds posts that say the same thing in other words.
  • Trend data shows which topics are growing compared with last month.
  • You also see the subreddits where your topic comes up most.

Example: A dog walker asks what owners complain about with walkers and gets the matching threads, each with its upvotes and replies, as ready-made post ideas.

The catch: Searching runs on reddapi’s paid plans, from $19.90 a month for 500 searches. The free plan gives 3 searches on their website and no API access.

Step 2 · Plan the week

2. Social: a content plan and a weekly calendar

53.2K GitHub stars (pack)72K installsMITFree

Many accounts go quiet because each morning starts with an empty post box.

Social, from Corey Haines’ Marketing Skills pack, plans and writes posts for LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok and Facebook.

What it does

  • First come questions about your goals, your audience and how you sound.
  • Your posts are then split into three to five content pillars. Its founder example is 30% industry insight, 25% behind the scenes, 25% how-tos, 15% personal and 5% promotion.
  • Each platform gets its own pace: LinkedIn three to five times a week, X three to ten times a day.
  • You also get a weekly calendar, hook formulas and a 30-minute daily routine for replying to comments.

Example: Tell it you run a small dog walking business and you get a week of posts for LinkedIn, X and Instagram, with what goes out on which day.

The catch: It plans and writes, but scheduling needs a separate tool connected to Claude, such as Buffer or Typefully.

Install it

Easiest: open Claude Code, type Install this skill: and paste github.com/coreyhaines31/marketingskills/tree/main/skills/social

npx skills add https://github.com/coreyhaines31/marketingskills --skill social

Step 3 · Your voice

3. Social Media Skills: posts that sound like you, with stronger hooks

3.8K GitHub stars17 skills in the packMITFree

AI posts tend to sound alike, because the model doesn’t know how you write.

Social Media Skills by Charlie Hills is a pack of 17 skills. Three of them do most of the work.

What it does

  • Voice Builder interviews you and reads three to five pieces you wrote, then saves your voice so the other skills write like you.
  • Hook Generator writes six openers for a post, each two lines of up to 40 characters, from angles like a number, a contrarian take, a confession or a prediction.
  • It won’t invent a personal story. Without one from you, it marks those angles as needing your input.
  • Post Scorer grades a draft from 1 to 10 on hook strength, voice match, value density, structure and publish readiness, compared with your own best posts.

Example: Ask for hooks about dog walking and you get six two-line openers, with the personal ones left for you to fill in from real experience.

The catch: It’s built mainly for LinkedIn, and Post Scorer pulls your post history through Apify, a scraping service that needs an account.

Step 4 · One idea, every app

4. Content Engine: turn one piece into posts for every platform

273K GitHub stars (ECC)3.7K installsMITFree

A good article or video usually gets shared once and then disappears.

Content Engine is part of Affaan Mustafa’s ECC pack. It repurposes one piece of your own work into posts for each platform.

What it does

  • The starting point is always real material: an article, notes, a demo, a transcript or your earlier posts.
  • One post carries one claim, specific words beat adjectives, and there’s no bait like “Thoughts?”.
  • On X it leads with the strongest point, and on LinkedIn it adds only the context outsiders need.
  • For short video, the result or the problem shows up in the first seconds.

Example: Give it a blog post about your first year walking dogs and you get an X thread, a LinkedIn post and a short video script from that one story.

The catch: It ships inside ECC, a very large pack, and it writes the posts without publishing them.

Install it

Easiest: open Claude Code, type Install this skill: and paste github.com/affaan-m/ecc/tree/main/skills/content-engine

npx skills add affaan-m/ecc --skill content-engine

Step 5 · Carousels

5. Carousel Writer: swipe posts, slide by slide

554 GitHub stars2K installsMITFree

People scroll past long blocks of text, but a carousel gets them to stop and swipe.

Carousel Writer from BlackTwist’s social media skills pack writes the text for every slide.

What it does

  • Slide counts follow what each platform favors: LinkedIn 7 to 12, Instagram 8 to 10, Facebook 5 to 8 and TikTok photo posts 6 to 12.
  • Every carousel follows the same structure: a cover that earns the swipe, a context slide, one point per body slide and a closing call to action.
  • Each slide gets a header of eight words or fewer and 30 words at most.
  • Formats include a listicle, a framework, a before and after, or a mini case study.

Example: Ask for “5 signs your dog needs more exercise” for Instagram and you get eight slides: a cover, a context slide, five signs and a closing slide.

The catch: It writes text only. You still design the slides in a tool like Canva.

Install it

Easiest: open Claude Code, type Install this skill: and paste github.com/blacktwist/social-media-skills/tree/main/skills/carousel-writer-sms

npx skills add blacktwist/social-media-skills --skill carousel-writer-sms

Step 6 · Fit every app

6. Crosspost: one post, rewritten for each platform

273K GitHub stars (ECC)3.5K installsMITFree

The same text pasted on every app looks lazy, and followers notice.

Crosspost, also from Affaan Mustafa’s ECC pack, rewrites one post for X, LinkedIn, Threads and Bluesky.

What it does

  • No two platforms get the same copy.
  • The strongest native version comes first, and the others are adapted from it.
  • Stock lines like “Excited to share” and “What do you think?” get cut, and “link in bio” appears only when there really is one.
  • A short note at the end says what changed and why. Instructions hidden inside the text you paste are ignored.

Example: Paste your best post and ask for it everywhere, and you get four versions, each written for its platform, plus the list of changes.

Crosspost skill on GitHub (affaan-m/ecc)
The Crosspost repo on GitHub (affaan-m/ecc), screenshot taken October 2026.

The catch: It writes the versions but doesn’t post them. You need another tool for that.

Install it

Easiest: open Claude Code, type Install this skill: and paste github.com/affaan-m/ecc/tree/main/skills/crosspost

npx skills add affaan-m/ecc --skill crosspost

Step 7 · Post to X

7. Post to X: publish from a text file, with your final OK

26.3K GitHub stars (pack)28.7K installsMITFree

Posting on X by hand means opening the app, pasting, uploading images and clicking through every step.

Post to X from the baoyu-skills pack does that part for you.

What it does

  • Text, images, videos and long X Articles all go out from a Markdown file.
  • Your real Chrome does the work, and you’re already logged in there, so there are no API keys to set up.
  • A preview opens first so you can check everything.
  • Post never gets clicked without your explicit final confirmation.

Example: Hand it a finished thread and three photos, and it lays them out on X and waits for your yes.

Post to X skill on GitHub (jimliu/baoyu-skills)
The Post to X repo on GitHub (jimliu/baoyu-skills), screenshot taken October 2026.

The catch: It drives your own browser, so Chrome has to be open and logged in to X, and it needs Bun (a small JavaScript runtime) installed.

Install it

Easiest: open Claude Code, type Install this skill: and paste github.com/jimliu/baoyu-skills/tree/main/skills/baoyu-post-to-x

npx skills add jimliu/baoyu-skills --skill baoyu-post-to-x

Step 8 · Schedule

8. Postiz: schedule to 28+ channels and track results

36.7K GitHub stars (app)4.2K installsOpen source appFree skill

Posting at 9 every morning is hard when you’re asleep, at work or on a plane.

Postiz is an open source scheduling app, and its skill lets Claude schedule posts to more than 28 channels, including X, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit and Pinterest.

What it does

  • Before scheduling, each platform’s settings are checked so a post doesn’t fail on a missing field.
  • Images and videos upload through the Postiz command line tool.
  • Afterwards you get analytics per platform and per post, so you see what worked.
  • It works with the hosted Postiz service or your own self-hosted copy.

Example: Ask Claude to schedule your week and each post goes to the right platform at the right time.

The catch: The hosted plan starts at $29 a month after a 7-day free trial. Self-hosting is free but takes setup work.

Frequently asked questions

Can Claude manage my social media?

Claude can do most of the work: find topics, plan a week, write in your voice, adapt posts for each platform and, with Post to X or Postiz, publish or schedule them. You still approve what goes out.

Is Claude for social media free?

The eight skills in this guide are free to install. Two parts cost money to use: Reddit Research needs a paid reddapi plan (from $19.90 a month), and hosted Postiz starts at $29 a month, though you can self-host it for free.

Will Claude post without asking me?

Not with these skills. Post to X never clicks Post without your final confirmation, and Postiz posts only what you ask Claude to schedule.

Which social platforms do these skills support?

Between them: LinkedIn, X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, and through Postiz also YouTube, Reddit, Pinterest and more, over 28 channels in total.

Which skill should I install first?

If you don’t know what to post, start with Social for a weekly plan. If you already have ideas but posting takes too long, start with Postiz.

Final verdict: the best setup for Claude for social media

Find what people are asking with Reddit Research, plan the week with Social and make it sound like you with Charlie Hills’ pack. Then let Content Engine, Carousel Writer and Crosspost turn each idea into every format, and finish with Post to X or Postiz to get it out.
